Best Essential Oils For Face

It is very important to only put on your skin what you would likely eat because the skin is a direct pathway to the bloodstream. When the body gets overburdened with chemicals from beauty care products it can lead to detoxification problems that can cause health issues down the line. You can reduce the burden by simplifying your personal care routine to include basics such as natural carrier oils (coconut oil and olive oil)  and pure essential oils.

In the beginning of 2014 I started my journey with Young Living Essential Oils and soon enough I became obsessed  with the oils to enhance my beauty routine. In North Africa, where I am from, we make lots of plant based beauty and personal care products. Combining my knowledge of local plants and with knowledge of how to use of essential oils has made my journey turn into a passion.  I am excited to share with you some of my favorite oils for my facial skincare.

I always combine essential oils with carrier oils like coconut oilShea butterolive oiljojoba oilapricot oil and almond oil whenever I use them on my face because they are very potent and a little goes a long way. Young living essential oils are known for their purity so using them with carrier oils is a best way to preserve them so they last longer and avoid skin sensitivity.

Best Essential Oils For Your Face

Frankincense Essential Oil: Frankincense has many benefits for the skin and it has been used since ancient times by wealthy people to enhance beauty and spirituality. It is a natural toner, decreasing the appearance of pores and evening out skin-tone. I made a roll-on with 10 drops frankincense mixed with apricot oil and apply it everyday before bedtime. Get 100% pure, therapeutic-grade frankincense essential oil here.

Lavender Essential Oil: Who does not use at least one lavender scented beauty product? The problem is that pure lavender oil is costly to produce. So many of the ones used in popular products are synthetic and the body does not know how to process them and that can cause problems down the road. Young Living is the only company that owns hundreds of acres of organic lavender farms in the US and overseas. And follows every step of the distillation process from seed to sealing of the oil. I add few drops to unscented Castile soap and use as a face wash and shower gel. Get 100% pure, therapeutic-grade lavender essential oil here.

Helichrysum Essential Oil: Helichrysum italicum, is commonly referred to as everlasting, immortal or the curry plant. Its name sounds like something precious, doesn’t it? It is one of the most prized oils for the skin. It’s known for its restorative properties and provides excellent support to the skin, liver, and nervous system.Get 100% pure, therapeutic-grade helichrysum essential oil here.

Myrrh Essential Oil: You may have heard of myrrh from the holy books. Ancient Egyptians used myrrh to add to perfume. It was valued more than gold during ancient times. Myrrh supports healthy, youthful looking skin. This is why it’s commonly added to many skin care products today. Get 100% pure, therapeutic-grade myrrh essential oil here.

Carrot Seed Essential Oil: I don’t like the smell of it, but I love it’s rejuvenation properties. Carrot seed essential oil is has natural sun protective qualities. I mix just one drop with one teaspoon of coconut oil and and use it as a moisturizer. The reason why I say just a teaspoon is because I like to preserve the freshness of my beauty products, so I just make a small amount. Get 100% pure, therapeutic-grade carrot seed essential oil

Geranium essential oil: This is an amazing floral oil that I absolutely love. It has a floral and sweet fragrance that’s very relaxing and smells amazing. It has been used back to the times of the Egyptians for promoting and supporting beautiful and supple skin. If you want to use an essential oil with a wonderful floral smell and can’t afford rose oil, geranium is my second suggestion. I use it in my face toner too and wear it as perfume. Get 100% pure, therapeutic-grade geranium essential oil

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil: My Mother is a big fan of Ylang Ylang, she even has a French made face moisturizer that she buys and uses all the time. It’s quiet expensive, so I made her a homemade version that she thinks is working wonders on her skin tone and appearance. The best part is that is does not have the synthetic ingredients used in her favorite brand! Get 100% pure, therapeutic-gradeYlang Ylang essential oil

Tea Tree Essential Oil: Tea essential oil, also called melaleuca oil, is made from the leaves of the tea tree plant (Melaleuca alternifolia), a member of the myrtle tree family, which is native to Australia. Aboriginal tribes in Australia have known the amazing properties of the tea tree for thousands of years. But you don’t have to travel to Australia to get tea tree oil. Young Living has the most pure available to you and it comes in the premium starter kit. I use tea tree a lot. 1. Hi! I was wondering if you would mind sharing the Ylang ylang moisturizer recipe, and, if so, could it be used on the face? I don’t have a ton of experience with essential oils but have recently tried tea tree oil mixed with my normal moisturizer. I did notice it helping my acne some, but then read online that you should use tea tree as a cleanser and follow with a moisturizer. Any advice on a natural skin care routine for oily/acne prone skin would be appreciated! Thanks!

    1. Hi Kadie,

I am sorry for the delay. The moisturizer I made for my mom is just coconut oil mixed with 5 drops ylang ylang essential oil. I have lots of recipes in my DIY page that you can try. My sister has great results using the clay masks, facial scrub and the ART cleaner from Young Living essential oils. Please be extra careful when using essential oils on your face. Make sure to use high grade therapeutic essential oils. If you have any questions on that let me know.
