DIY Purifying and Smoothing Face Mask

I once in my life had to deal with severe acne on my face, and that was the worst thing that could ever happened to me. I hated looking in the mirror, and the worst thing was every time I tried a treatment I made it look worse. All the dermatologists I visited said it’s hormonal and of course there is a certain truth to that, but I also learned over the years that nutrition and choosing the right products can make a big difference too.

I recently joined Young Living Essential Oils and I think this was the best decision I made in 2014. I love making my DIY beauty recipes and finally taking my passion to the next level.

I made this mask for my little sister who like me was suffering from acne for years, and I was amazed on how her skin started to clear up after just few uses. Since I used natural ingredients and 100%  therapeutic essential oils, I suggested her to use the mask three times a week, followed by applying  Frankincense essential oil after she washes her face to get ride of the acne scars. Hey, It worked!!!  And her skin tone looks much more radiant.

DIY Purifying and Smoothing Face Mask Recipe

Ingredients

• 3 tablespoons Organic Botanical Clay powder (Buy it here)
• 5 drops Melaleuca alternifolia _It’s another name for tea tree essential oil from young living (Buy it here)
• 5 drops purification essential oil (Buy it here)
• 10 drops frankincense essential Oil (Buy it here)
• 2 tablespoons organic Rose water (Buy it here)
• Water

Preparation 

1. Mix clay powder, rose water and water to form a paste.
2. Add essential oils and keep mixing for two minutes or pass through a food processor.
3. Store in a mason jar and keep it in a cool area. I love these jars.

Homemade baby massage oil

I started making homemade baby products, because I figured they are generally less expensive than store-bought, non toxic, environmental safe, Plus, if you start making several different kinds of baby care products, you’ll find that you’re using a lot of the same ingredients in different ways, so you can buy the ingredients in larger quantities to save even more money.

I love infant massage, I find it as a very special time for bonding with my infants. All of my three boys loved massage time. I try to do it two to three times a week.

Did you know that baby massage can:

• Promotes relaxation and helps babies self-regulate calm, which reduces crying
• Helps to normalize muscle tone
• Improves circulation
• Enhances immune system function
• Improves midline orientation
• Helps to improve sensory and body awareness
• Enhances neurological development
• Helps baby/child to sleep deeper and more soundly
• Provides all of the essential indicators of intimate parent-infant bonding and attachment: eye-to-eye, touch, voice, smell, movement, and thermal regulation.

• Improves overall functioning of the gastrointestinal tract

Give your baby the touch of love by making this 100% natural massage oil. It’s never too late. My seven year old still asks me for a little massage at least ones a week.

Homemade baby massage oil recipe

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup organic olive oil ( You can get it here )
• 1/2 cup organic apricot kernel oil ( get it here )
• 1/4 cup calendula flowers ( get it here )
• 1/4 cup chamomile flowers ( get it here )
• 2 drops of carrot seed essential oil ( get it here )
• 2 drops of lavender essential oil ( get it here )

Instruction

Mix all the oils together. Put the calendula and chamomile in a glass jar and pour the oils over it. Put a tight-fitting lid on. Keep in a cool, dark place and shake daily for 6-8 weeks. The color of the oil will turn to dark yellow or orangish. Get rid of the flower by passing the oil through a cheesecloth. Keep in a glass jar and use as needed. In my experience this oil gets more concentrated and more beneficial the more it lasts. This oil acts as a southing and relaxing due to the effects of the chamomile and calendula.

This homemade face wash recipe will leave your skin refreshed and smooth. I tried rose water as a face toner and loved ( find the recipe here ) and said to myself why not making a face wash with it too. I am amazed of how amazing and super easy to make this recipe is. I use to spend between $25 to $35 every two months to buy a good quality face wash. The ingredients I am sharing below can make up to 15 4 ounces bottles. Now that’s a pretty big saving .

Note: Did you know that more than 1000 years ago, Ancient Egyptians used frankincense in their skin care routine to make masks, lotions, soaps …etc ? This ancient and holy essential oil is originally from the Middle East and North Africa, particularly Somalia and is extracted from frankincense resin. Young Living has a farm in Oman Jordan and that’s where the frankincense I use come from. There is only 2% real Frankincense entering the US and lots of the one sold in store shelves is fake. Get The real one here. 

Homemade Face Wash Recipe

 Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup Castile unscented baby soap ( I use this one)
• 1/4 cup rose water (I use this one)
• 1/4 cup distilled water
• Five drops vitamin E oil ( I use this one)
• Two drops each of : Lavender, Frankincense and purification essential oils( I get mine here )

Directions:

1. Mix all the ingredients together and put it in a glass disponser bottle. ( I use this one )

When you wash your face, massage the mixed you made with circular motions; this helps blood circulation and therefore helps smoothen your skin.
